Meet our newest team member, Carlos

London, UK — Sep 2, 2025 — We are delighted to welcome Carlos Pérez-Galván to PolyModels Hub as our new Senior Technical Lead – Industrial Data Science & Process Modelling!

Carlos brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of chemical engineering, data science, and industrial operations. As a founding member and later leader of Solvay’s Industrial Data Science team—now part of Syensqo—he built scalable digital solutions spanning 66 manufacturing sites worldwide. These included applications in energy optimization, root cause analysis, predictive maintenance, and quality inference.

With a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University College London (UCL), Carlos has deep expertise in optimization, process modelling, and data systems integration. He has led teams, developed open-source tools, and taught workshops for both industrial and academic audiences.

At PolyModels Hub, Carlos will lead the design and implementation of our technical solutions—supporting the growing needs of our pharmaceutical customers by ensuring our modelling systems are robust, scalable, and seamlessly integrated with emerging data science technologies. He will also provide technical mentorship to the team and help shape the next phase of our platform’s evolution.
