Meet our newest team member, Luxi

London, UK — October 27, 2025 — We are very happy to announce that Luxi Yu has joined PolyModels Hub as our newest Bioprocess Modelling Engineer!

Luxi recently completed her PhD at the Sargent Centre for Process Systems Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London. Her research focused on computational modelling of CHO cell cultures for biotherapeutic production—an area where she successfully integrated mechanistic modelling, state estimation, and machine learning to enable more effective process understanding and data-driven optimisation.

Throughout her PhD, Luxi applied these methods to develop soft sensing strategies for CHO intracellular dynamics, support glycosylation control in product quality, and enable adaptive model transfer across different bioreactor scales, cell lines, and process conditions. Prior to her doctoral studies, she also earned her MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial, laying the foundation for her passion in bioprocess systems modelling.

At PolyModels Hub, Luxi will contribute to the development of cutting-edge digital workflows for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, helping bridge complex models with practical tools to support faster, more robust decision-making across the bioprocess lifecycle. Her work will be central to expanding our bioprocess capabilities—both within our R&D function and in collaboration with our growing customer base.
