Meet our newest team member, Samuel

London, UK — August 14, 2024 — We are pleased to announce that Samuel Andersson has joined our PolyModels Hub team as a Junior Software & Process Modelling Engineer.

Samuel brings a background in both pharmaceutical process modeling and full-stack web development. He earned an Integrated Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, where he focused on pharmaceutical process development and machine learning. His academic work included a research project exploring deep learning for generating chemical process flowsheets, which involved developing a chemical process building environment in Python.In addition to his formal education, Samuel devoted a year to intensively expanding his full-stack web development and software engineering skills. Through a combination of coursework and practical experience gained from consulting and freelancing, he tackled a range of challenges, including the application of deep design of experiments and the development of recommender systems.

At PolyModels Hub, Samuel will take on a hybrid role that combines his expertise in modeling complex pharmaceutical processes with his skills in web development. He will focus on building mathematical models in Python code, designing robust web applications, and exploring opportunities to integrate machine learning features into our projects.

I couldn’t be more excited to join PolyModels Hub, a place where all my interests and skills converge. This role sits at the perfect intersection of engineering, software development, and pharma—areas I’m deeply passionate about. It’s not just about working with a talented team; it’s about collaborating with an entire industry filled with brilliant people, and tackling the kind of challenging, real-world problems that push boundaries. What excites me most is the chance to help shape the next generation of tools that will elevate talents in this field. My goal is to enable professionals with the tools they deserve and an experience we all want.
