Meet our newest team member, Marco

London, UK — June 17, 2024 — We are delighted to welcome Marco Quaglio as the newest member of our PolyModels Hub team.

Marco is a skilled senior engineer with a combined Bachelor and Master of Engineering in Energy Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, and a PhD in "Novel Techniques for Kinetic Model Identification and Improvement" from University College London (UCL), UK. He has a robust background that builds on his PhD work, where he developed intelligent algorithms with the goal of automating the construction and identification physics-based models for chemical and biochemical phenomena. In addition, Marco brings solid experience in the MLOps field from previous roles in the high tech industry, having led the development of an ecosystem of ML-based microservices and overseen the maintenance of the underlying cloud infrastructure.

At PolyModels Hub, Marco will take on the role of Senior MLOps & Process Modeling Engineer, aiming to advance our integration of cutting-edge software technology infrastructure with model-based process design solutions.

I consider it a privilege to start this new chapter at PolyModels Hub. I am joining a team of terrific scientists and engineers with the goal of embedding model-based process development in the pharma industry. I am feeling genuinely excited about the vision and the opportunity to work on such impactful challenges through my role within the team. I am really honoured to be part of this journey.
